At Shelburne Flight School we recommend that you begin with an Introductory Flight to see if flying is something that you really want to do. During this flight you will be given hands on instruction on the four fundamentals of controlling and flying an airplane. Then, you can discuss the Private Pilot Part 61 Curriculum with your Instructor. The FAA requires you to have:

  • 40 hours of total flight time, including:
  • 20 hours of dual instruction
  • 10 hours of solo
  • 10 hours of "other"
  • Pass a FAA Written Exam (60 question, multiple choice)
  • An Oral and Flight Test
  • Also, you will need a physical exam which will be your Student Pilot Certificate/License.

Then you are privileged to fly a single engine airplane anywhere in the U.S., Canada and Mexico! Just think, no pat downs! If you would like to discuss costs, timing and scheduling, please call 802-233-0374 or email.

    Introductory Flight Gift Certificates available!
